How it works

Built around your life,
designed to get you building.

Keep Your Income While You Learn
Class meets Mon / Wed / Fri in Austin. The other two days are yours — keep your job, your clients, or your business running while you build new skills.
Your Expertise Is the Advantage
No coding background required. The people who get the most out of this program are the ones who already know their industry deeply. We teach the AI — you bring the insight.
Never Get Stuck
A dedicated instructor team is available around the clock — evening office hours, async feedback, and a cohort community so you never lose momentum between sessions.
You Leave With Real Products
No certificates. You graduate with 3 deployed AI products — live, working tools you built yourself. Things you can show, sell, or put to work immediately.
Small Cohorts, on Purpose
Every applicant completes a short take-home project before admission. We keep cohorts small and selective — the quality of the people around you is part of the program.
A Public Stage on Demo Day
At the end of the program, you present your capstone to Austin operators, founders, and investors at a public Demo Day. Your first real audience for what you built.

You don't need a technical background.
You need the right one.

MakerSquare isn't for everyone — and that's the point. Here's who tends to get the most out of it.

The Operator
You run something and there's always too much to do
You manage a team, a practice, or a business. There are reports that take hours, proposals that get rewritten every time, client emails that follow the same pattern. You know AI should be doing half of this — you just haven't had the time or the right guide to set it up. You leave MakerSquare with tools that actually run without you.
Business owners · GMs · Department heads · Consultants
The Career Builder
You're good at your job and you want to stay that way
You've built a real career — years of experience, a reputation, a network. But the ground is shifting and you feel it. Younger colleagues are experimenting with AI tools you haven't touched. You don't want to catch up in two years. You want to be ahead of it now, and you want the skills to prove it — not a certificate, but actual work you've shipped.
Marketers · Finance professionals · HR leads · Account managers
The Domain Expert
You know your field better than anyone — and you have an idea
A decade in healthcare, law, real estate, or finance. You've seen the same inefficiency over and over. You've thought about building something to fix it — maybe for years. What stopped you was the technical layer. That layer is now accessible to anyone who's willing to learn how to use it. MakerSquare is where you finally ship the thing you've been thinking about.
Lawyers · Healthcare professionals · Real estate agents · Financial advisors
The First-Time Builder
You have the idea and the drive — you just need the technical layer
You want to build a product. You have a clear problem in mind, you understand the market, and you have the work ethic. What you don't have is an engineering background — and you have zero interest in spending two years getting one. MakerSquare is the fastest path from "I have an idea" to a working product you can show to real users.
Aspiring founders · Side project builders · Career changers

Made for people who
are ready to stop waiting.

You've been watching AI change your industry. You've used the basic tools. You know this matters. But nobody has built a program for someone like you — experienced, non-technical, and ready to actually do something with it.

MakerSquare is for professionals who want to build, not just learn. In 8 weeks, you'll go from curious to shipped — with real products, real skills, and a real network in Austin's tech scene.

  • Build and deploy AI tools using no-code and low-code platforms
  • Create an AI that searches and reasons over your own documents and data
  • Set up automated workflows that run without you lifting a finger
  • Know when your AI tool is actually working — and how to fix it when it isn't
  • Price, position, and find your first customers for what you build
  • Present a live, working product to investors and operators at Demo Day

Most AI programs weren't
built for you.

Online courses are built for passive learners — you watch videos, maybe finish, get a certificate, build nothing. Intensive coding bootcamps require an engineering background you don't have. MakerSquare was built for the gap: experienced professionals who want to ship something real.

Most other programs
Self-paced, easy to abandon
Require a technical background
You finish with a certificate, not a product
100+ students, no real accountability
Theoretical — nothing actually deployed
No community or network after you're done
MakerSquare
In-person, 3× a week — hard to quit
Built specifically for non-technical professionals
You graduate with 3 live, deployed products
Small, selective cohorts — everyone's serious
Real tools, real users, real outcomes

What you'll build

8 weeks. 3 phases.
3 products you actually ship.

Phase 1
Weeks 1–2
Foundations
How AI models actually work — the intuition, not the math. How to write prompts that get professional-grade results. The tools that let non-engineers build real products: Cursor, Lovable, Replit, and others. How to connect AI to the real world without writing code.
→ Week 2: your first deployed AI tool, solving a real problem in your domain
Phase 2
Weeks 3–5
Building
AI that searches and reasons over your own documents, emails, and files. Automated agents that complete multi-step workflows on their own — even when you're not there. How to test whether your AI is actually doing what you think it is.
→ Week 4: an AI built on your own data  ·  Week 5: a fully automated workflow
Phase 3
Weeks 6–8
Ship & Scale
Turning your prototype into something others can actually use. How to price it, find your first customers, and talk about what it does. Managing costs as usage grows. Your capstone: a fully deployed, production-ready AI product presented to a live Austin audience.
→ Week 8: Demo Day — present to Austin operators, founders, and investors

How to apply

Three steps.
The whole thing takes a week.

01
Fill out the application
Tell us about your background, what you want to build, and why now. No resume required. We're not looking for credentials — we're looking for people with a real problem to solve and the drive to solve it.
~10 minutes
02
Complete a short take-home project
We'll send you a short, practical challenge to complete at your own pace. It's designed around what you already know — not what you haven't learned yet. This is how we make sure every person in the room is serious.
2–3 hours, at your own pace
03
We'll be in touch within a week
We review every application personally. If it's a fit, we'll reach out to schedule a short call. If the timing isn't right, we'll let you know — and keep you in mind for future cohorts.

Questions

Things people
usually ask us.

Do I need to know how to code?
No. The only prerequisite is basic computer fluency and real experience in your field. If you've spent years building expertise in your industry, that's exactly what we're looking for. We'll handle the rest.
What's the time commitment?
Class runs Mon / Wed / Fri from 9am–3pm (18 hours per week) for 8 weeks, plus 10–15 hours of project work on your own time. The schedule is intentional — you keep earning while you build.
How selective is it?
Every applicant completes a short take-home project before a decision is made. We keep cohorts small by design — we're not looking for the most experienced people, we're looking for the most motivated.
What do I actually walk away with?
Three deployed AI products, live and working. A Demo Day presentation to Austin operators and investors. And a cohort of fellow builders who become your long-term network — people who are building with AI in your city, in your field.
Is this right for me if I'm not trying to start a company?
Absolutely. Many students come in wanting to automate work at their existing job, build a tool for a client, or just develop a serious new skill. You don't need a startup idea — you just need a problem you care about solving.
Why Austin?
Austin has one of the fastest-growing concentrations of founders, operators, and domain experts in the country — with an active VC and angel community that becomes part of your network the moment you step on stage at Demo Day.

Starts July 2026.
Seats are limited.

If you've been meaning to get serious about AI — not just read about it, but actually build something with it — this is the program. Applications are open now.
